UHEAA to Host NASFAA Negotiated Rulemaking Webinar Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority issued Bulletin #4 regarding the U.S. Department of Education’s intent to establish five negotiated rulemaking committees. Most of the regulations affecting the administration of federal student aid are subject to this negotiations process. To assist the financial aid community in its participation in negotiated rulemaking, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) will conduct a Webinar, “Negotiated Rulemaking: Implementing Reauthorization,” from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. MST Thursday, January 15, 2009. The Webinar is free for NASFAA members. In this Webinar NASFAA will explain the negotiated rulemaking process, preview selected issues to be negotiated, and discuss how financial aid professionals can take an active part in forming the rules that will affect students, institutions, and the profession. Handouts will be available online, and questions will be entertained as time permits. Registration for the Webinar can accessed through NASFAA’s Web site at http://www.nasfaa.org. UHEAA is registered for the Webinar, and will host a brown bag viewing for anyone interested in attending. It is important to get a count for the Webinar. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Ashley Reyes at 801-366-8466, or areyes@utahsbr.edu, by Wednesday, 12:00 noon. Any questions related to this Bulletin should be directed to UHEAA Policy and Training at 801.321.7166, or by e-mail to mjohnson@utahsbr.edu. |
