Mapping Your Future® Offers Services to Schools, Students, and Families
As a sponsor of Mapping Your Future (MappingYourFuture.org), Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority is pleased to extend this reminder of the many services Mapping Your Future offers to schools, students, and families. During these difficult economic times, students and families are looking for help with college plans, and colleges and universities are looking for ways to offer better service while cutting budgets. Mapping Your Future, a public-service nonprofit organization, makes available its information and services free of charge.
Many institutions of higher education rely on the entrance and exit Online Student Loan Counseling (OSLC) sessions developed by Mapping Your Future to help them and their student borrowers meet federal loan counseling requirements anytime, anywhere. Mapping Your Future has worked diligently to update OSLC to comply with the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) of 2008, giving institutions the opportunity to provide school-specific information required by HEOA. The OSLC sessions actively involve borrowers in loan counseling, creating an important default prevention tool. Furthermore, OSLC provides financial aid counselors more time to spend with those students who need individual assistance.
For students and families, Mapping Your Future offers information on college planning, career selection, financial aid, and money management. As a charitable 501(c)3 organization, Mapping Your Future adheres to strict core values that guide it in making sure that middle school and high school students get the information and services they need to achieve their life goals. There are even resources available for middle and high school counselors.
Mapping Your Future has received a number of awards, including recognition for its excellence in content and innovation in technology services. UHEAA invites interested persons to visit the Mapping Your Future Web site at http://www.mappingyourfuture.org. UHEAA’s partner schools not currently using the Online Student Loan Counseling sessions may contact their school representative for more information.
