As a service to its participating schools and lenders, Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority offers the following review of recent announcements and releases from the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, and related sources. These reminders cover topics of general interest and importance that relate to the administration of federal student aid.

Summary: FSA posted the 2009-2010 School Electronic Process Guide, which describes changes to Web and software products used by schools. The Guide is designed to meet the reference needs of financial aid administrators, programmers, and data processing staff.

Summary: NOTICE—by December 15, 2008 every organization enrolled in the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) must review its assigned TG numbers and FAA Access to CPS Online users. According to FSA, failure to complete the process may result in loss of Access to Federal Student Aid data systems.

Summary: NOTICE—FSA reminds schools that as noted in the instructions for the Fiscal Operations Report for 2007-2008 and Application to Participate for 2009-2010 (FISAP) all corrections to data and corrections of edit errors must be submitted to the Department of Education by Monday, December 15, 2008. By this same deadline, a school that participates in the Federal Perkins Loan Program must update its Perkins cash on hand as of October 31, 2008.
