Enhancements to Return of Title IV Funds on the Web
Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority has learned that Federal Student Aid (FSA) announced the implementation of September enhancements to Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4) on the Web. UHEAA Bulletin #30, dated July 29, 2008, provided information on earlier enhancements.
FSA’s Electronic Announcement on these most recent enhancements can be viewed at http://ifap.ed.gov/eannouncements/092308R2T4WebRelease.html. The online R2T4 application can be accessed through the FAA Main Menu of the FAA Access to CPS Online Web site and from the View menu in the EDExpress for Windows software.
Federal Regulations specify how Title IV funds are to be handled when a recipient of those funds ceases to be enrolled before the end of the payment period. R2T4 on the Web in an online application intended to help financial aid administrators calculate the earned and unearned portion of Title IV program assistance as required.
Volume 5 of the 2008-2009 Federal Student Aid Handbook contains detailed information on the Return of Title IV funds, including case studies and worksheets for manual calculations. The electronic Handbook is available through the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web page http://ifap.ed.gov/IFAPWebApp/index.jsp.
