Notice of Proposed Rulemaking Concerning the Special
Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership Program
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently released a Notice of
Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) in a July 27, 2000 Federal Register regarding
the new Special Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (SLEAP) Program.
The proposed regulations incorporate provisions contained in the recent
reauthorization of the Higher Education Act (HEA). The proposed regulatory
changes impact the following sections of 34 CFR:
