Modernization Blueprint and Teleconference

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently released an Announcement, dated April 10, 2000, regarding the latest version of the Modernization Blueprint, ED's plan for updating and integrating its computer systems. Comments regarding the blueprint are due by Monday, April 24th and should be submitted through the "Feedback" form located on ED's Modernization Blueprint web site at http://sfablueprint.ed.gov or e-mailed to Harry_Feely@ed.gov.

A teleconference to discuss the blueprint and present questions to a panel of ED experts has been scheduled on Thursday, April 27th at 11:00 a.m. E.T.  The teleconference is co-sponsored by NCHELP and NASFAA.  Registration for the event is required and can be done on-line at NCHELP's web site, http://www.nchelp.org/, under the "Events" section.  Participants may attend in person or via telephone.  The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency Washington at Capitol Hill, 400 New Jersey Avenue NW, Washington D.C.
