Year 2000 Disclosure Notice of 1999-2000 FAFSA & Renewal FAFSA on the Web

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently issued a Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) GEN-99-06 announcing the January 1999 releases of the Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) on the Web and the Renewal FAFSA on the Web (RFOTW) are Year 2000 Compliant.

ED and National Computer Systems, a software development contractor, are pleased to report that both software products function accurately in processing date data from, into, and between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, including leap-year calculations. Additional information and resources regarding ED's Year 2000 activities can be obtained from ED's web site at www.ed.gov/y2k.
