NSLDS Accepts Overpayment Information

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently issued Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) GEN-98-14 informing institutions that the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) now includes screens to be used by institutions to enter information on students who owe an overpayment on a Title IV grant or Perkins Loan.  Included in the DCL is a set of "Questions and Answers" which provides information on how to use these NSLDS screens.

The DCL also establishes October 31, 1998, as the date by which institutions must have entered all existing overpayment information in their possession into the NSLDS.
