Late Disbursement Checklist

The National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs, Inc. (NCHELP) developed Lender and School Late Disbursement Checklists based on the new federal regulations effective July 1, 1997 (please see attached). These checklists are intended to help schools and lenders unravel the complex rules that now govern late disbursements. The school checklist provides a tool for determining whether a borrower is eligible for a late disbursement of FFELP funds prior to delivery by the school. Similarly, the lender checklist assists in the determination of borrower eligibility for a late disbursement prior to disbursement by the lender.
